One of the problems that we come across is when homeowners clean their carpet themselves and leave behind a terrible residue in the carpet. This is especially true when using certain name brand carpet spot removers. These products leave a residue that temporarily leaves the spot looking good and giving you a false sense of satisfaction for a job well done. However, within a few weeks or even days, the spot is replaced with a grayish-blackish spot the continues to collect more dirt as the spot has traffic over it. When these spots are rinsed out, it leaves a residue that is worse than the original spot.
One other item to note, keep in mind before you start spilling things on that stain - you may do more damage and end up costing yourself more money than if you just simply called a professional.
All our technicians are fully trained through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) to remove 90% of all stains. We provide specialized treatments to remove stains that others can't.

First Aid Treatment for Spills for Consumers
Step 1: Absorb excess with sponge or towel. Do not rub - wipe and scoop. Rubbing leaves the area looking different and is not going to make a difference to getting the stain out.
Step 2: Place a damp towel over stain and press down to absorb moisture. Do not rub. When using detergents and spotters from the supermarket, dilute to recommended ratios and use according to directions. Even so, many products leave residues on your carpet that will cause re-occuring stains. Other products contain bleaching agents that can damage your fiber and/or color. If available, use our 911 Spotter as it is safe and effective on all types of carpet.
Step 3: If step 2 is unsuccessful, do not experiment. All stains are a chemical of one kind or another. Your stain may respond to a specific chemical. To find out, call us with your stain removal question.
